Lina Kolesnikova joins Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management

Lina Kolesnikova was admitted fellow of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management - ICPEM ( www.icpem.net ). The Institute is an independent and collaborating forum from which emergency professionals, academics and business collectively champion civil protection and emergency management.

Formed on 1 January 2009, ICPEM is a result of the merger of two organisations:

- The Institute of Civil Defence and Disaster Studies founded in 1938. The Institute was the UK's oldest learned society wholly dedicated to international disaster studies and research, and had worldwide

  membersship, and

- The Institute of Emergency Management incorporated in 1996 by professional ememrgency planners and managers who recognised the need to research and improve the response to major incidents and their

  immediate and long-term co-ordinated management.

The Institue brings together emergency professionals, academics and business, in order to provide an informed and influential voice on all aspects of civil protection and emergency management. Among other activities, ICPEM publishes membership-only 'Alert' professional journal.

The ICPEM is an Affiliate of the International Civil Defence Organisation (www.icdo.org)
